The NaNoWriMo prep 2015!

Oh my, it's been such a long time since I blogged here! Lately I've really been reminiscing about this blog and that I started it out from the love I have for books and because I in general have been writing  on projects since I was 13.

It's really this on and off situation where you write and then you stop, not necessarily from writers block but maybe a lot of stuff is happening, like exams and projects at uni. I would love to give you all an update on how my life is at the moment since it's really been a while. Most of all, I really wonder if any of my 'old' readers will ever read this. But if any of you do, then I have really kept you waiting haven't I? I hope all is well with all of you and I will write a short update on what's going on next time.

And now to the good stuff!
I entered for this year's National Novel Writing Month! I am psyched! I thought that while I'm writing in November that I would keep you all updated on how it's going and how I'm prepping and various forms of how I get my creative juices flowing!

Are you participating in NaNoWriMo this year?
Have you got and idea to what you're gonna write about? :)

The Famous Hunger Games

The Famous Hunger Games
Today I watched The Hunger Games with my best friend Ania.
Now, that's all about me but let's talk about the movie. As you know the world has been buzzing about this movie and I for once could not wait to see if it was as good as everyone claimed it would be. Let's see my review, shall we?

The Hunger Games

The story is good. It's strong, kind of like Katniss. It survives! The movie however. Please do note that I have not read the books yet. Simply because they haven't arrived from amazon.com.
As all movies this one too had it's ups and downs.

The Effects:
I loved them! I LOVED how they used the weapons, the explosion and especially the music. Really great instrumental music playing in the background and setting the mood. The training sessions was of all the movie by far the best scene! Truly. Amazing. The quality of the film was annoying. Some places it was perfect while other where so.... dusty! Also there was this ONE effect I wasn't fond of... when they were set on fire. The flames looked fake. I don't like things that look fake. The makeup she had at the end, the butterfly eye shadow was incredible! I want that too!

The Characters:
Haymitch, Haymitch, Haymitch. WHAT A DUDE! Seriously, he was awesome! As mentioned I have not read the books yet but he was amazing. whether it was his character or him as an actor this guy got serious talent! He's one of my most favorite characters in this movie.

Gale was put aside. Yes, Yes, I know it was about the games and everything but couldn't they have done something more with Gale? All we got was two scenes and both quite short. We didn't get anything more than that they might have a thing going on. Gale might as well not have been in the movie. Instead of watching the long clips of the line for The Hunger Games children they could have made a greater deal out of Gale. Right now I don't know if I like him or not.

Cinna, was I the only one to notice the sexual tension between Katniss and Cinna? God, there was so much of it that it drove me crazy. A part of me was waiting for the two of them to make out. No joke! Other than the sexual tension he was great! Also one of my favorite characters.

Peeta, what to say about you? I'm not sure how I feel about Peeta. His character was a little bit....I don't know. I didn't quite hate him but I didn't love him either. I guess I've read too many Peeta jokes to even take him seriously. Which reminds me that most of the jokes were about Josh/Peeta always talking about the Cave Scene. Oh My God! How much I've craved to see what this famous and big deal this cave scene has to this story. When I sat there with my best friend I kept asking her when it would pop up and she told me to wait. When they first found the cave and it was like this small scene I looked at here giving here the "That's it?" look. Luckily she shook her head. When the REAL Cave Scene came and the dialogue between Katniss and Peeta started I suddenly began to laugh. By laughing I mean so much that no noise would come out and I sat there shaking so much and tears filling my eyes. I haven't laughed that much in a loooooong time.
Why I laughed, you ask?
Simple. Because the dialogue they had was completely out of the context. It felt like they had changed the movie or something. And maybe I laughed a tiny bit because of all the Cave Scene jokes I remembered that I'd read.

Rue was the most alive character. Alive as in showing the emotions correctly and you know, being alive. She obviously was the youngest one and reminded Katniss of her little sister Primrose. Oh, and that's the other thing. I don't like Primrose. Don't ask why, because I don't got a good reason but it's just a feeling. Rue on the other hand was more like Katniss's little sister. Obviously that is probably what the author created her for. When she died I didn't get very emotional. That's kind of the funny part. Yes, the actors showed emotions but either those emotions wasn't good enough or my emotions where on a break. Because I cry easily. I cry for everything. I'm not even joking. A small scene and you'll see me wiping away the tears in a hurry.

Finally, Cato and his gang. Cato was asdfghjkl material! Ania and I held each other so strongly whenever he showed up and my heart just kept skipping some beats. His attitude and the way he was. I ADORE HIM! Of course killing people is bad, unless you're in The Hunger Games but the way he did it. He got style.
His gang on the other hand. Weeeeeeeell, they were great too but he did stand out! Maybe a tiiiiiiny bit arrogant but come on guys, he got the FACE!

The Girl On Fire and overall.
Katniss was great and Jennifer Lawrence was flawless. She played well and her emotions and the way she were was amazing. Overall I think the movie was great! although I have this slight issue with the handheld camera where there should NOT be a handheld camera. Also I was expecting more blood! The fact that they had looong endless clips about the crowds and all of that I really got mad when I found out that the people that got killed first couldn't be filmed properly with actually showing that they was getting killed.

I'm definitely looking forward to reading the books! No matter how the movie is the books always have that little extra. Also maybe I'll get to know these characters better. Arg! It annoys me so much that Gale was put aside when he obviously had a big part in Katniss's life.

New Year, New Opportunities...or?

Hey Guys!

I know, It's been a looooooooong time since I've been blogging and I sort of haven't been writing in my projects either. I was ill and now I'm back, I don't know how much I'll blog or how long the blog posts will be but I'll sure try my best! :)

FACEBOOK eats you up alive, sometimes you can sit there for hours and still don't do anything. You end up liking stuff and like people's pictures, their statuses, their likes and so it goes on and on.
I had, like most people do have, Christmas holidays but guess what! I still couldn't manage to write.
Writer's block?
Nope.
I just can't write if I sit down and decide to write. Familiar situation?
My  myself have had some ups and downs. The feelings have been jumping and there just haven't been any thoughts around The Taste of Death or Unbreakable. Luckily I managed to finish writitng Gone, which was a short story for two of my best friends. It turned out pretty well, so well that I've decided to write a Gone Part 2.

Have you ever been in a situation when you don't know if you comepletely believe in yourself? I've been there and right now I'm standing with one leg on each of the sides. That's when you really need your best friend! Thank god for have sent me Ania! Today I really thought about where I would be standing if she wasn't in my life and the truth is that The Taste of Death had been buried or deleted. The lack of support is digging it's way in to my brain. It feels like it's eating up my creativity... Sad, I know.

Positive thing: I'm still ADDICTED to reading.
I believe that if I read enough and constantly I'll eventually get rid of this I-can't-write desise. And then Ania and some of the other few friends that knows about me writing stop waiting for me to write and for them to read more. I have to admit, it's pretty awesome to watch them read the latest pages I give them. To put it this way: THEY ARE THE REASON FOR MY WRITING!

What do you think?

Inkpop.com

Hey Guys.

As I've seen, apperantly non of my followers are alive... what a shame.

Today I thought I could write about inkpop.com.
First of all, what a wonderful website! Two years ago I didn't even know about it. I was just beginning on the dream to become an author. I wanted praise and crituqe by the readers. I wanted help with what I could do better and how to do it. Then Authonomy.com came across. I asked to be a member and were allowed. Still I missed the teens. Those teens who the book is written for. Suddenly one day I got a message from one of he memebers in Authonomy, which by the way is like inkpop. He told me that my book was great and why I was sitting on authonomy and not on inkpop.

I was surprised when he said inkpop. What the hell is inkpop? I thought as I asked him in a more polite tone. Then he told me that it was like Authonomy only for teens and a place for teens to get their work out there and connect with others like themself. Facinated I checked it out. The first thing that hit me was the colors. they were absoultly eye catching. So I signed in, I took a look around and got a few friends.

Now what?
I've made some friends, checked out others work and commented. What else to do?
To publish a part of your own book smartass!
The truth.... I haven't done it yet. I'm always talking about that: "Oh soon I'm gonna put my book on inkpop." Do I do it?
No, I don't. I'm simply afraid of getting bad critique. Of course I do handle it. And I WILL put it on inkpop. First I'm going to edit it! Really well! A hundred times before I even will think of sharing it to the english speaking people out there in this major world!

INKPOP is a place you as a writer will enjoy!
People are supportive and give you good feedback.
They help you with something you might miss or could do better.

Future writer? VISIT INKPOP!
Read others work or write your own. =)

10 Followers & A new book project :D

Hey Guys! :)

I just logged on today and then I saw that I have 10 followers! Yay!
So, what have I been up to lately? Well, I can reveal that I have a new book prosject going on! :D I just started yesterday. I listened to a song that inspired me so much that I thought... WOW! I have to write a the story that popped up in my head at once when I listened to it.

My new book project is named UNBREAKABLE
I named it Unbreakable because of the strong female character that is one of the main characters in it.
Her name is Alyssa and she's a witch. Her personalty is quite right-to-the-point.
Carter is a wannabe bad ass boy. he captures Alyssa and hold her as a hostage, she prefer prisoner.
I am super exited for how this project is going to end and i've also decided that it's just one book, not a series. GO INSPIRATION! :D

Does it sound good to you?

PC VS BOOKS

Hey Guys! :)

So as you might have guessed I've been pretty busy lately. Sorry for not have blogged!

I've finished Bitten by Kelley Armstrong and I got to say that I LOVE IT! It's a book you shouldn't miss in your wish list or reading list. It was absolutely amazing! As promised a book reveiw will be posted as soooon as I have enough time to breathe and write! Hahaha.

PC VS BOOKS....
Yup, I know what you might be thinking. Why choose one?
That's pretty easy to think sometimes but for me, if I have to choose one thing I would have chosen books! I don't know when but one day I fell for books. I fell in love with books. They helped me with learning english and to show me a differerent way of reading. The books I'd read showed me a completely different side. They took me along to a world where everything got exited. Where werewolfs, demons, vampires, and witches existed. I could go for days after reading a book, wondering of how wonderful it was in it. How you almost became friends with the characters inside it. Knowing what they thought and how they felt.

LOOK WHAT I MADE:
It's my background on my computer =D
I made it with Picasa 3.

What do you choose, PC or Books? And why?

Fire Study by Maria V. Snyder

Hey Guys! :)

After a successful Halloween with my best friend a book reveiw of Maria V. Snyders last book in the Yelena Zaltana series would be perfect.

____________________________________________________________________
Fire Study

THE APPRENTICESHIP IS OVER
NOW THE REAL TEST HAS BEGUN

When word that Yelena is a Soulfinder - able to capture and release souls - spreads
like wildfire, people grow uneasy. Already Yelena's unusual abilities and past have
set her apart. As the Council debates Yelena's fate, she receives a
disturbing message: a plot is rising against her homeland, led by a murderous
sorcerer she ha defeated before.

Honour sets Yelena on a path that will test the limits of her skills,
and the hope of reuniting with her beloved spurs her onward.
Her journey is fraught with allies and enemies.
Yelena will have but one chanse to prove herself - and save the land she holds dear.

Yelena must train on her magic. She decides to put that on hold. There are more important thing to do. Cahil and Ferde has escaped from the Keep. If she doesn't do anything quick it might as well be to late.
Yelena likes to jump into any situation and then think of what to do. It has worked before then why wouldn't it now? :)
She constantly discovers her powers and how to use them. She hasn't seen Valek since forever and she longs to be with him, in his arms. They get brought together as Cahil (The wannabe king of Ixia) declares war against Ixia. Again Yelena must use her undiscovered powers to save Valek, Ixia, Sitia and herself.
Will she manage the task as the Soulfinder or is she the wrong girl?

Cover:
The cover was nice, Although on this cover there was a 'different' girl.
RATE: 7/10

Plot:
The plot was exiting! It was thrilling to see how eveything turned out and how Maria V. Snyder manages to put the different characters into the story. It was really nice. But somehow I felt there was some scenes that were there to 'fill' the book. I don't remember quite what kind of but there was some moments when you could manage to put the book down. Of course I'm not insulting her book! I Love Maria V. Snyder's books and her writing style. It is amazing and it doesn't get boring as some books might get.
RATE: 8/10

Characters:
Once again we meet our dear characters again for the final battle. Again, Janco and Ari are the best, next to Valek, Leif and Yelena. Moon man is also quite funny in Fire Study.
He's her Story Weaver. He has the answers to her problem, her future and her past.
I'm really going to miss these characters! They have such awesome personalites and their way of talking. They are truly unique!
RATE: 10/10

Favorite Line:
Janco about Yelena's dull fighting style:
"I like her new style." Janco piped in. "It's good for my ego."

Favorite Scene(s):
Believe it or not but I actually liked the scene when Valek gave Yelena a "cold shoulder". I think it might be because I, myself was shocked over his reaction! That's when I think a book is good. when you're favorite character does something unexpected! That's how it should be! SURPRISING!
And the last scene in the book! I won't reveil it! ^^
RATE: 10/10

Overall:
Overall I think that this book was a worthy ending of the story of Yelena Zaltana! It had more action and I really enjoyed it! I don't know what more to say... IT WAS AWESOME!
RATE: 9/10

Recomend?:
Absoulutley! This is a incredible book and Maria V. Snyder is an amazing author! :D
READ IT! :)

The Taste of Death :D

Hey guys! :)
Today I thought that I've written about a lot! My Inspirations, Music, Movies, Valek<3, Halloween, Autumn, Book reveiws, one Movie reveiw, and a Welcome post ... What is missing?
Then the famous idea lamp glowed up. You should tell them about your book! Hmm....  Should I?
Yes!

Cover :)

I have written this book since Summer 2009. That year I remember how angry I was! I'd found out that I wasn't going to Pakistan on my summer holiday. And my teacher refused to give me a B in English.... I'm living in Norway so English is my 2nd / 3rd language. That's when I decided to prove him wrong! And I did ^^ without telling anyone about my book. It's still a well kept secret as long as those in my town don't know about it. :P

People in Norway is actually annoying me... Yup, how is that possible?
Well first of all almost and notice the word almost no one like English... and they think of writing as having no life, same with reading. Do you get how annoying it can be? When no one can understand why you're writing a book or spending your free time reading? For me that is the best thing that can happen! <3

Back to the book! :)

The Taste of Death

The Taste of Death is in many genres. It's a mix of Comedy, Fantasy, Romance, Action, (Horror?)

The main characters are Lauren and Liam. They are two best friends and have been since Lauren moved to Santa Barbara, California in fifth grade.
Her arch enemy, Jenny has everything but yet she want one thing she can't have..., Liam.
Liam is this happy, good looking, funny and awesome guy.
When something happens he fights! not with words but with his fists. He has to protect Lauren for what she doesn't know anything about....., yet.
Lauren is the regular average teenager. She is kind, thoughtful and after her own opinion, boring.
She craves to be more known. She has something inside her growing and before she knows it, her life is turned upside down. Suddenly everyone is after something she has. but the problem is that she doesn't know what.

Characters:
This is how I can see the characters for me :)
One problem! They don't match exactly!
The pictures below are kind of going to "describe" them
but yet they don't look
exact like those bellow ;)

LAUREN NICHOLS
(Indiana Evans)

RACHEL
(Marie Avgeropoulos)

LIAM DAVIS
(Gaspard Ulliel) BTW: Liam is blond ;)

DAMON/DAMIEN
(Kevin Zegers) Maybe ;)

DARYL
(Alex Pettyfer)<3

I hope you liked the short description ;)

Any questions about the book?
Comment bellow and I'll answer ;)

Movies - A Massive Inspiration Source! :D

Hey Guys! :)

I bet you see movies at least two days a week. I think the main reasons for why we love watching movies are that we can actually see the characters and how they fight or use whatever they may use as a weapon or a certain ability they have. It somehow get's better when we can see how they fight.
Some Examples:

Underworld
X-Men
Underworld
X-Men

Although people with imagination can even see the fight reading a book. Yes, those things happens only if the author has described it well! :) It's important to describe the place, the "smells", the facial expressions and of course how they are fighting. Don't forget the dialogue! My favorite type dialogue is where the fighters use sarcasm and teasing. I think those are awesome!

That's were movies can be a awesome guide! If you've seen it, you can describe it better!
When you see a fighting scene and want to tell it to your friend later about it you have to decribe it. The same thing with writing. Have you seen a awesome movie and want a similar fighting scene in your book you need to describe it life-like! ^^

Comment bellow if you feel to share your thoughts! :D

Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder

Hey Guys!
So here it is, the second book reveiw for the second book in Maria V. Snyder's Study series.
______________________________________________________________________

Magic Study

A lesson in loyalty -- a master class in intrigue.

So far, I've managed to survive. You would think after being kidnapped as a child,
imprisoned in my teens and released to become a poison taster, I would have endured enough.
But no. The discovery of my magical abilities--powers forbidden in Ixia--has resulted in an
execution order. My only chance is to flee to Sitia, my long-lost birthplace.

But Sitia is unfamiliar. I'm treated like an enemy-- even by my own brother.
Plus I can't control my powers. I want to learn about my magic, but there isn't time.
A rogue magician has emerged and I'm targeted as his next victim.
(He has already killed eleven girls. One of the victims escaped, and my attempts to help her have alarmed the master magicians; they think I am a 'soulfinder' and now people don't trust me. Valek is in danger if he comes, and the Ixian delegation is arriving.
But I hoping my untested magical abilities will help me survive. No matter how bad things get, I just can’t give up, and there is always, always hope that tomorrow will be better)

Will my magic abilities save me... or be my downfall?

Yelena has now told the commander of Ixia about her magic abilities. By the Ixian law, all magician in Ixia should be executed. Yelena is allowed to leave with Master Magician Irys Jewelrose. Her relationship with Valek has changed and she's no longer a student of his or a prisoner in his eyes...<3
In Sitia she meets her family for the first time in 14 years. Everything is unfamiliar and she don't remember anything from her childhood. Her brother Leif meets her in hatred. He won't believe that she is his sister. For 14 years ago he had witness her kidnapping, done nothing and then later tried to find her in the jungle.
Her mother and father is happy because she's finally back home. But then again she can't stay as long as she would like to. She has to learn about her magic in the Keep. The Keep is the school where every magician in Sitia must go to before they begin working as whatever they want to work as.

Problems comes up when she meets Cahil. Who claims to be The King of Ixia. They want inside information from Yelena. They think she is a spy from Ixia. There is also another problem, There is a magician that has already killed eleven girls. One of the victims escaped. Now Yelena wants to help that victim by finding this powerful, magician and set an end to the fear of more girls being kidnapped.

Cover:
The cover is great. It looks a lot like the first cover, Poison Study, but the difference is the colors. I like it! :)
Rate: 9/10

Plot:
After my opinion I liked the plot, there was of course this thing missing... you know, Valek <3.
No but I think magic study was nice, not as nice as Poison Study though but it had some great moments and some moments were I actually could put the book down. I think there was many good 'scenes' in this book and just a few places were I think it got boring. just some few... not 5 not 4 but maybe 2-3.
Rate: 7/10

Characters:
There was many new charaters in this book. Her family, the student at The Keep and the Master Magicians. Although some characters were better than others. I liked Leif, her brother. He was pretty angry at her in the start but at the end and a little bit before you could feel his care for Yelena. And then we have Ari and Janco from Ixia and the first book Poison Study. They are like an super duo! They are Funny which leaves to me laughing every single time! :D

Favorite Line:
Valek: "I'm beginning to wish that you were an orphan, love. Can you both manage to focus on the task at hand without trying to catch up on fourteen years of sibling rivalry?"

Favorite Scene(s):
My favorite scenes were those with Janco and Ari. They are always so funny! ^^
Plus that one scene with Valek when she meets him for the first time again after moving into the Keep<3
10/10

Overall:
This was a great book! There was new characters and a new 'enviorment'. I think this book could have been a tiny bit more exiting, and when I say tiny, I mean like 2% ;)
It was definitley a nice sequel to Poison Study. Althought I missed those fighting scenes with Ari and Janco a lot! :) But this is worth reading. These series are amazing and so is Maria V. Snyder! <3

Recomend?:
Yes. Of course you should read it! I mean it's better then the twilight series and those are world wide bestsellers. I think that Maria's writing style is quite nice. She doesn't have too many descriptions and she doesn't specify how they're talking. but what she does is to make the fighting scenes imagineable! And that is a strenght that not many author have.

Is Happy! :D

Hey Guys!

Yes, I am happy again , which means.... Happy, fantasy posting!

To all my readers and those who comment: Pleace check the comments for my answers! I reply to all of your comment even if it isn't a question. ^^

So this is up...
I've finished reading Magic Study so that's the next book I'm going to post a reveiw about! :)
Maria V. Snyder's books are actually the first books I can't put down until I'm finished. She definitley doesn't use a hundred pages to come to the point! BRAVO! ^^

And I had this other idea too! What if I put out some movie reveiws too? Would you be interested in reading those? :) Movies are awesome but not as awesome as books! If Maria V. Snyder's books were done into movies it would have been Raffaello Balzo who would have to play Valek or else I wouldn't like it! It would ruin the Valek I know :( <3  soooo.... Raffaello Balzo or his look-a-like or no movie xD

Aww...<3
Perfect VALEK<3

Sometimes I'll even post two blog posts on the same day so be aware :P

Got to love books!

Hey Guys! =)

Once when I was about 10 years old I wondered if I was the only one who loved books. My classmates said that they hated to read. Imagine how glad I was to find out that I was not alone in this world that had a passion for books! My passion for books are massive and so is my passion for writing.
Being creative is easy for me. to place yourself in a book is like for me opening a door. I can see the picture that the book are telling. It feels like a movie is playing inside my head.
It's quite funny when you think about it! I'm reading a book and when I'm finished I realize that it felt like watching a movie.

Currently I'm reading Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder and so far... I'm loving it!
I recommend you to read these books I've pictured down below and I've written the pitch of each and everyone of them.
I'll be writing book reports of each book I've read. So the first book I will write about is: Posion Study.

Poison study:
Choose: A quick death...or a slow poison...About to be executed for murder, Yelena is offered an extraordinary reprieve. She'll eat the best meals, have rooms in the palace - and risk assassination by anyone trying to kill the Commander of Ixia. And so Yelena chooses to become a food taster. But the chief of security, leaving nothing to chance, deliberately feeds her Butterfly's Dust - and only by appearing for her daily antidote will she delay an agonising death from the poison. As Yelena tries to escape her new dilemma, disasters keep mounting. Rebels plot to seize Ixia and Yelena develops magical powers she can't control. Her life is threatened again and choices must be made. But this time the outcomes aren't so clear...

Magic study:
Completing her apprenticeship could prove deadly...With an execution order on her head, Yelena has no choice but to escape to Sitia, the land of her birth. With only a year to master her magic - or face death - Yelena must begin her apprenticeship and travels to the Four Towers of the Magician's Keep. But nothing in Sitia is familiar. Not the family to whom she is a stranger. Not the unsettling new facets of her magic. Nor the brother who resents her return. As she struggles to understand where she belongs and how to control her rare powers, a rogue magician emerges - and Yelena catches his eye.Suddenly she is embroiled in battle of good against evil. And once again it will be her magical abilities that will either save her life...or be her downfall.

Fire study:
Yelena's apprenticeship is over - now her real test has begun. When word that Yelena is a Soulfinder - able to capture and release souls - spreads like wildfire, people grow uneasy. Already Yelena's unusual abilities and past have set her apart. As the Council debates Yelena's fate, she receives a disturbing message: a plot is rising against her homeland, led by a murderous sorcerer she has defeated before."Honour" sets Yelena on a path that will test the limits of her skills, and the hope of reuniting with her beloved spurs her onward. Her journey is fraught with allies, enemies, lovers and would-be assassins, each of questionable loyalty. Yelena will have but one chance to prove herself - and save the land she holds dear.

Storm glass:
Untrained. Untested. Unleashed. With her unique magical abilities, Opal has always felt unsure of her place at Sitia's magic academy. But when the Stormdancer clan needs help, Opal's knowledge makes her the perfect choice - until the mission goes awry. Pulling her powers in unfamiliar directions, Opal finds herself tapping into a new kind of magic as stunningly potent as it is frightening. Now Opal must deal with plotters out to destroy the Stormdancer clan, as well as a traitor in their midst. With danger and deception rising around her, will Opal's untested abilities destroy her - or save them all?

Sea glass:
Student glass magician Opal Cowan's newfound ability to steal a magician's powers makes her too powerful. Ordered to house arrest, Opal dares defy her imprisonment, travelling to the Moon Clan's lands in search of Ulrick, the man she thinks she loves. Thinks because she is sure another man - now her prisoner - has switched souls with Ulrick. In hostile territory, without proof or allies, Opal isn't sure whom to trust.
